Looking for a place to stay where i could fish from shore, walk the beach to restaurants and maybe around 80 degrees year round. Also very important to volunteer 20 or so hours per week.
Sincerely,
Al Coburn
The ocean is abundant with fish, and many of the local fishermen don’t go that far out to throw in their nets.
I have seen lots of people at various beaches pole fishing, usually at rocky points or projections into the ocean. But I have no Idea what they are catching!
As for having places to walk to for food, that’s not so easy…as many of the beaches have nothing for most of the year, and only open up café’s and restaurants in high season, so you probably need to be in or near a decent sized town if you want a variety of eating options.
Of course there are other considerations… such as easy access to shops, markets, cultural activities and expat communities. Also take account of the changing climate…from the south to north of Ecuador, the climate gets progressively more tropical and humid.
I would check out the major cities/towns in each province… and then look farther afield. In Manabi province, you might consider Canoa, Bahia de Caraquez, Manta and Puerto Lopez all of these are featured on this site.
Perdido!
