Not to be confused with Jambeli in El Oro province, the Jambeli beach in Santa Elena is a virtually unknown beach, next to a small fishing village of about 50 homes, a few hundred meters off the Ruta del Sol. There are no paved roads here, so watch out when it is rainy. The few visitors to the beach are mostly locals from the village.
It is a very broad beach with a very shallow incline to the water, and there are no rocks. The waves are usually small, so the beach is quite safe for swimming with small children, and provides easy rigging, launching and water entry for kite surfers.

Kitesurfing: Because of the broad beach and shallow waves, launching and water entry is particularly easy, so it makes a great spot for beginners. Apart from the beach entrance, where there are a few boats, there are no hazards. Go south down the beach toward Monteverde.
From the Ruta del Spondylus go over the small bridge next to a shrimp pond, pick your way through the village for about 300 meters, and drive right up to the beach.
