Santa Marianita beach is the most popular location for kitesurfing in Ecuador. It is about 20 km from Manta and south west of the fishing port of San Mateo. The combination of a broad and long beach makes it an ideal spot for rigging and launching your kite. Plus, it has the perfect wind range, and wave height almost all year round. From July to November there is often enough wind for windsurfing too.
As a kite-surfing spot, Santa Marianita (a.k.a. Playa Bonita) is a superb place to learn. There are several kite schools operating from this beach, and since the beach is so long and empty, beginners have plenty of space for mistakes without getting in the way of others. A beach break, also makes this a good beach for novice surfers. There are a limited number of hostels and restaurants nearby.

The perfect beach to learn and practice kitesurf is Santa Marianita Beach, the better months to kitesurf are: May to December, and I recommend Ecuadorkitesurf School: excellent instructors, equipment, and classes.
