Same beach is one of the more exclusive areas in Esmeraldas province. Nestled in the hills is an iconic private community called Club Casablanca which has over 800 apartments and a hotel with a nine hole golf course, tennis courts and a marina. Same beach itself is lined with Mediterranean style beachfront properties and stretches for approximately 2 km.
The secluded beach is on located the other side of the headland from Sua Beach, and is more exposed to the wind, which makes for some decent sailing July thru December. However, because of the exclusivity, it is a little more expensive than other nearby beaches.
There is a small point break at the headland north of the cliff, best time to surf is in the morning. Near to the marina, and behind the road, is a small lagoon which is a great spot for bird watching.
Same beach is quiet. If you want more action, such as bars, restaurants and clubbing, Atacames is only 17 km away, and if you are without a car, buses to and from Same are cheap and frequent.
